What I’ve been learning lately

Hi Reader

I’ve been meaning to write this email for a little while.

The past six months have been full, in the best way, but also stretching.

While I was creating and delivering Menopause Simplified, I was also studying behind the scenes.

I completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in Menopause Weight Loss Coaching with Dr Wendy Sweet.

And I want to share why that felt important to me.

Weight gain is the most common concern women bring into my space.

Sometimes it’s spoken out loud.
Sometimes it sits quietly underneath everything else.

Clothes not fitting the same.
A body that feels unfamiliar.
A worry about long-term health.
A fear that something is “wrong.”

I never dismiss that.

At the same time, I will never go back to diet culture, restriction or quick fixes.

So I wanted a deeper understanding.
More nuance.
More science around what is actually happening hormonally and metabolically in the menopause years.

What I found was reassuring.

Because the foundations I already teach through the Self Care Framework - sleep, stress support, nourishing food, strength training, muscle preservation, nervous system care, are the very things that support metabolic health.

It wasn’t about adding something extreme.

It was about strengthening the work.

Being able to hold weight concerns with compassion and evidence.
Supporting long-term health without shame.

That feels aligned.

I’ve also realised something else.

I haven’t written a proper blog in a very long time.

And I miss writing.

I miss going deeper into the “why” behind menopause changes.
Explaining things clearly.
Taking the overwhelm out of the noise.

But I don’t want to write what I think you should know.

I’d love to write what you actually want to understand.

Would you be willing to tell me?

Which of these topics would you open and read?

  1. Why weight changes in menopause (what’s really happening hormonally)
  2. How much protein women actually need in midlife
  3. Strength training for healthy ageing
  4. Metabolism myths that keep women stuck
  5. Sleep, cortisol and midlife weight gain
  6. Insulin resistance explained simply
  7. The Mediterranean diet and longevity
  8. Why muscle matters more than the scales
  9. How to prepare for a menopause GP appointment
  10. Something else?

Just hit reply with a number.
Or tell me what’s been on your mind lately.

Even if you’ve never replied before, I would genuinely love to hear from you.

This next season feels quieter. More intentional. More rooted in the kind of support that truly lasts.

Thank you for being here for it.

Here’s to creating a life in menopause that feels easy, empowered and fulfilled.
